Want to know my secret to better wedding design? It’s my version of “go outside and touch grass.” When I hit a creative rut, I stop scrolling. Not everything needs to be reinvented. I’ll wander through a thrift shop, a vintage market, even HomeGoods on a random Tuesday. Old frames, worn brass, 90s color palettes, wallpaper from decades ago. Real texture. Real history. Pinterest is incredible and has been the design search engine for years, but eventually everything starts to look the same. If you want a wedding that feels curated instead of copied, you have to gather inspiration from real life. The best designs aren’t invented from scratch. They’re collected, layered, remembered.
There’s a reason I protect my mornings. Before calls, meetings, and creative design… there’s breakfast at the table with a tiny human who thinks potatoes are a personality trait. My family is at the center of everything I do. Not separate from my work. Not competing with it. It’s the reason I care so deeply about the work .. & I think that translates into as planning well. Because weddings, just like real life, are about priorities. Sometimes that looks like protecting a 9 AM breakfast. Sometimes it looks like trimming a guest list so your budget can breathe. Sometimes it’s as simple as choosing intention over excess. The point is not doing everything. It’s choosing what matters most and building around that. That’s how I live & That’s how I plan.
